Our gracious and loving heavenly Father, I thank Thee again tonight for the ineffable greatness of Thy Word and the power of Thy holy spirit.  I thank Thee, Father, that this Word is living and real and that we understand the word of knowledge and the word of wisdom as we see it manifested in this great chapter tonight.  Oh Father, raise us up men and women who will be able to understand the Word and be able to walk on it.  Who will have great believing so that the revelation from Thee, oh Father, will again be made manifest not only to them but there’ll be people who’ll believe it so that it can be used to change the course of history and life and to be a blessing to the hearts and lives of people.  Father, for this we praise Thee and thank Thee through Christ Jesus our Lord. 

 

 

Ephesians 1:17-23

You see, there is nobody in the world that can teach it, put it all together and make it live. Because it’s just too big. The hope of his calling, the riches of the glory, the power to us. Far above. Seated. Died, raised, seated. Far above all what? Really something. All things under our feet.

What words can you express to a man’s heart or a woman’s heart that makes them see it? I don’t know. You just have to study it and you have to let God really show it to you. You’ve got to believe the Word. That’s all.

Because we are what the Word of God says we are, and we have what the Word of God says we have. That’s why it’s the great mystery, the great secret that was kept. Israel glories in the greatness of its redemption in Christ, according to the Word. The return. He is their priest and king. But the glory of that revelation in the Word does not even begin to compare to the glory of this, the church of the body.

That’s all we have to do.  We have to stand fast.  And that word, “stand fast,” is not the negative, defensive type of standing fast.  It is “a positive action of standing or staying put continuously.”  Not continually, ‘cause continually we’d be hot one day and cold the next.  But it is to stay put, stand fast.  The word that’s used there in the Greek as well as the Estrangelo Aramaic means “stand fast.”

The Healing of Naaman

You see, if we walk into the mouth of the lion, all the lion can either do is chew on us or get regurgitated and turn into a lamb or something. I don’t know. These four lepers said,

2 Kings 7:3:
… Why sit we here until we die?

If we go back in the city, they haven’t got any food, we die. If we sit here, we die. We might as well get up and do something. Because, if we start moving, all we can do is die. And if we stay sitting we’re going to die anyways, and if you’re going to die, you might as well die standing up as laying down. That’s right.

And if I had any one message to cry to our nation tonight, it would be that same message of truth, “Why sit we here until we die?” That’s right. Why don’t we as Christian believers stand up and get counted? Why don’t we hold forth God’s Word to every Tom, Dick and Harry, Mary, Susie and Jane? That’s right. The Word, the Word, the Word. The reason our people in our nation are dying tonight is because of a lack of the knowledge of God’s Word.

We do not lack a knowledge in physics, chemistry, outer space, a lot of other. But our people are dying in our nation because they lack God’s Word, people. And there is not use to going back to the old sources to try to get it, because they haven’t got it. And you cannot put new wine into old skins. So if I were to cry tonight to our nation, I’d say, why do we as Christians sit here until we die? They only thing they can do to us if we get up and walk is kill us. But if we sit here, we’re going to kill ourselves. Either way, we’re going to die. So why sit we here until we die? Why don’t we get up and move God’s Word. Talk the Word. Walk the Word. Speak the Word. Move it. That’s right. Boy!
