He says, in the opening verse of this third chapter,
Philippians 3:1a
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in [what?] the Lord.
You just have to rejoice in the Lord. You can’t rejoice in a lot of things with which we’re surrounded: the negatives with which we’re engulfed by the periodicals, the news media or anything else. We’ve got to rejoice in the Lord.
And the only way you’re ever going to rejoice in the Lord is to keep your head in the Word. You’ve got to study the Word. You’ve got to read the Word. You’ve got to put on this Word of God in your mind. Otherwise, you’re going to be rejoicing in the rest of the stuff you’re reading, listening to, or looking at. Rejoice in the Lord.

The Almighty God = El-Shaddai

Now, what does it mean in the Word when our God who is Elohim, He’s also Jehovah, but He is also El Shaddai. El. The Almighty God? What does the word mean? Well, look at it.
Genesis 17:1:
… [He] said… [to] him, I am the Almighty [what?] God; walk before me, and be thou [what?] perfect.
This is its first occurrence in the Bible. And the first occurrence here is a beautiful example of the use of the words ‘Almighty God’. I use it so many times. If you were alert tonight, when I opened the evening here with prayer how did I start? Almighty God unto whom every heart is what? That's how I started. I do not do these things haphazardly. Why should we? Because the Word of God is the will of God. I know what the words ‘Almighty God’ stand for, I know what they mean biblically. And this first occurrence here of its usage in Genesis 17 is real neat.
Genesis 17:1:
I am the Almighty [whom?] {God;} walk before me, [walk before me] and be thou perfect.

Romans 12:1:
I beseech you… by… [this mercy]… , that ye present your bodies a living [what?] {sacrifice,}…
Now, the reason I know He says this here, because I know the record in the Old Testament. In the Old Testament, God never wanted sacrifice, you know. A lot of things He didn't want. He didn't want kings, He didn't want judges, He didn't want anything like that. He wants to be their God. They were supposed to have a connection; and God would tell the men of God what to do, and the people were supposed to carry it out.

I John 4:10
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Not that we loved God, we didn’t. I didn’t love God, did you? I didn’t love God one bit, but He still loved me and sent His only begotten son into the world that I might live through him, that you might live through him.

Hebrews 13:16
… [and] to do good and to communicate [or fellowship well] forget not: for with such sacrifices God is [what] well pleased.
God wants us in Romans 12:1 to present our bodies a living sacrifice, not a dead one. We renew our minds. We offer up praises of thanksgiving to God by speaking in tongues, by walking with Him, by renewing our minds, by doing well. That’s the sacrifice we offer today because Jesus Christ made the perfect sacrifice for all of us and we were identified with him. When he suffered, we suffered with him. When he was crucified, we were crucified with him. When he died, we died with him. When he was buried, we were buried with him. When he was raised, we were raised with him and when he ascended, we ascended with him because it says we’re already seated in the heavenlies. Jesus Christ paid it all, and he did it according to God’s plan of redemption. That’s why all these things line up so well with the Old Testament records.

God-Inside Minded

I’m going to teach on God-inside minded. And I want you to turn to Philippians, as I’ve asked you to. And I want to set before you a verse of scripture that, again, just, it just took me years to believe it. And every day I’d just pound away at my mind and I’d say, “Look, that’s what the Word says. So, either the Word is a lie or it’s truth.” And something always said to me, “It’s, the Bible is truth but,” and then I got hooked again. Then I’d say, “Well, but that’s what the Word says.” And I can’t tell you how many years it finally took me to get around to believing what this thing really says. It’s a mindblower, but we’re really in the category of having our minds renewed constantly anyways. Listen to this great thirteenth verse of this second chapter of Philippians:
Philippians 2:138
For it is God … [who] worketh in you both to will and to do … his good pleasure.
